Red Ribbon

Life is like a box of chocolates, and all those flavours are tucked in here together.

It's the first of February which means Valentine's Day is coming and I've collaborated with The Berry Company to create a range of delicious drinks using their red juices.


I built this around their Superberries Red juice which features hibiscus, raspberry, cranberry, aronia berry and pomegranate. These beautiful flavours work with rich, dessert tones, and often these get incorporated into quite heavy drinks. The juice takes this cocktail down a lighter route, making it perfect for after a meal.


It's tart yet sweet at the same time. The dry mouthfeel stops the rich ingredients overwhelming the palette, and I do enjoy a dehydrated strawberry as a snack at the end.



 

Ingredients

  • 45 ml Superberries Red

  • 10ml hazelnut liqueur

  • 30 ml cognac

  • 10 ml creme de cacao white

  • 2 dashes orange bitters

  • Garnish: dehydrated strawberry

 

Method

  • Add all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker half filled with ice.

  • Shake lightly.

  • Double strain into a coupe.

  • Garnish with a dehydrated strawberry.
